The Tuning In Project is a pilot project that aims to explore and harness the therapeutic impact of music-making on mothers in prison and on their connections with their children. Working with the Senior Changing Tunes Musician-in-Residence for HMP Eastwood Park, the Tuning In Project Facilitator will co-facilitate group sessions with residents at HMP Eastwood Park, including those who have children on the outside, and with parents and babies on the prison’s Mother and Baby Unit.
The Tuning In Facilitator will co-facilitate music recordings with participants and Family music workshops with participating residents and visiting children and guardians. The Tuning In Facilitator will contribute to the development of a Therapeutic Framework for this new project, to provide a more psychologically informed environment for vulnerable women.
The Tuning In Facilitator will also contribute to ongoing evaluation and project development, supporting participants to play a meaningful role in informing the design, delivery and development of this pilot project.
