Tiegan is the London Development Officer for Clinks. Her role aims to further develop the criminal justice network in London; support the voluntary sector in keeping up to date with emerging criminal justice system policy; engage with commissioners and key stakeholders; and support the voluntary sector’s work in reducing crime and promoting community safety.
Prior to joining the team at Clinks, Tiegan was part of the 2018 cohort on the Unlocked Graduates Scheme, whereby she worked on the front-line of the criminal justice system for the last two years. She worked as a Prison Officer in the Long-Term and High Security Estate alongside studying an MSc in Leadership and Custodial Environments, as well as contributing to a Policy Paper on the underutilisation of Purposeful Activity in prisons.
Most recently, Tiegan conducted work around the experiences of young adults serving custodial sentences in predominantly adult establishments, and how this impacts them as emerging adults.
As a Safer Custody Officer and Equality Representative, Tiegan has worked with an array of complex individuals with a history of disadvantage. She's planned and managed innovative projects to tackle emerging and current issues within the context of prisons.
