CAIS is a registered charity and leading voluntary sector provider of personal support services in Wales. It helps people who are having problems with addictions, mental health, personal development and employment – as well as offering assistance and information to their families and friends. Its wide range of services includes residential treatment and rehabilitation, counselling, peer mentoring, supporting people in their homes, assisting people back into work or education, group work and other motivational interventions. CAIS can also offer a comprehensive range of training courses, together with training and support for employers. It is very active in the field of employment interventions including the development of our own social enterprises. CAIS is committed to working in partnership with others in keeping with the All Wales Strategy – Tackling Substance Misuse in Wales. All of its services aim to help people to recover from addiction and rebuild normal, productive lifestyles.

Career Connect is a charity whose core business is the provision of all-age careers information, advice, guidance and support. We enable people to make realistic choices, based on sound information, to help them achieve their potential in learning, training and employment. Established in 2001, we deliver services across NW England providing: The National Careers Service across NW NOMS CFO 3 contract for NW of England through our wholly owned subsidiary Achieve NW Connect. We deliver a programme that prepares and supports offenders into employment with a 32% sustained outcome rate. Careers information, advice and guidance services for young people (formerly badged as Connexions) across Greater Merseyside and Salford. Unlocking Potentiala social impact bond funded programme to support 4200 young people with behavioural, moderate mental health and wellbeing issues prepare for and enter the world of work. We also have staff embedded in Trouble Families teams and an adviser in Hindley YOI.

We facilitate educational programmes to children and young people focusing on the consequences of crime and providing them with an informed choice on their own life direction. What enables us to do this is 5 years of experience of our work conducted as a charity, from which we have sustained our charitable
objectives through the CIC. Our primary aim is to educate youngsters about how crime effects all it touches, acting as a deterrent & also a conduit to positive progression. What enables us to achieve this is our unique approach, relying on testimony of rehabilitated ex-offenders and victims of crime and also our
innovative workshops including joint enterprise, family perspective, gun gang & knife crime, drugs & alcohol, victim impact, legal aspects and many others including our mobile CELL experience (a well publicised insight into prison life and the implications of offending). We aid reintegration of ex-offenders
by supporting their progression, preventing re-offending.

We change the lives of people with mental health problems by using research to bring about better services and fairer policies and we support local providers to put the findings of research into practice.

The Centre’s qualitative research helps to understand the experiences of people with mental health problems and the profound importance that services and policies have on their lives. Our work is unique because it stands apart from academic and clinically focused research projects and trials. We have a mature programme of research and policy work around the criminal justice system that has developed over more than twenty years.

Our motivation is to emphasise people’s experiences, facilitate societal change and help those who can to create a world class mental health service in prisons. We have the authority, influence, and independence to successfully bring quality research to bear on local and national decision-making and practice.

Criminon UK is a registered charity delivering distance learning life skills courses in many UK prisons. We are members of LASER Learning Awards (formerly the Open College Network South East Region), and have four courses accredited. Our accredited course "Understanding and Overcoming Addiction", aligns with learning outcomes of the NOCN National Qualification Unit's 'Introduction to Drug Awareness', Level 1. Our other accredited courses deal with literacy at Entry Level 2 and Level 1 and a simple guide to better living and self-respect at Entry Level 2. Further life skills courses we offer deal with Parenting, Communication and Personal Integrity. We also offer a Mentor Course which gives the offender the skills to help others with their literacy and allows them to give something back, helping them achieve greater confidence and self-respect.

Geese Theatre Company is a team of professional theatre practitioners who present interactive drama and facilitate workshops, staff training and consultation in prisons, secure mental health settings, young offender institutions, and in the community with probation services, youth offending teams and related agencies. A registered charity based in Birmingham, Geese works throughout the UK and overseas and has gained an international reputation for innovative work with vulnerable and socially excluded groups, becoming widely acknowledged as one of the key organisations championing the role of arts in the criminal justice system and wider social welfare arena. Our work provides solutions to a range of criminogenic issues, primarily focussing on attitudes, thinking and behaviour and addressing themes such as domestic abuse, sexual offending, violence, resettlement, substance misuse and offending, self-efficacy, and employability.

Hafal (meaning 'equal') is the principal organisation in Wales working with individuals recovering from serious mental illness and their families. As a member led Charity, we were founded 20 years ago on the belief that people who have direct experience of mental illness know best how services can and should be delivered. Providing support across all 7 local health board areas of Wales and delivering over 76 projects, Hafal is dedicated to empowering people with serious mental illness and their families to:
• Achieve a better quality of life.
• Fulfill their ambitions for recovery.
• Fight discrimination.
• Enjoy equal access to health and social care, housing, income, education, and employment.

The project provides mentoring support to Merseyside based offenders pre and post release from prisons across Merseyside and the North West to enable offenders to effectively resettle back into the community. By supporting their criminogenic needs the project is focused on reducing or ceasing their offending behaviour. The project provides a comprehensive service to offenders from mentoring appointments in HMP Liverpool, through the gate support on the day of release, to appointments in the community with volunteer mentors and the opportunity to become a mentor themselves. The Project also recruits and trains Peer Mentors in HMP Liverpool to support offender’s needs in custody and promote engagement.

We work to organise a network of pastoral support for Muslim Chaplains and staff; to prepare, produce and recommend teaching materials and accredited courses; to provide mentoring and job shadowing services for Muslim Chaplains; and to engage the communities for the resettlement of prisoners and help to reduce reoffending. We also raise funds in order to pursue the MCA's activities.

No Offence! is a social enterprise, community interest company, not driven by private profit.

Our innovative and engaging approach facilitates the sharing of this information by instigating, supporting and encouraging communication and debate, which promotes wider understanding of complex criminal justice issues across society. By challenging barriers to positive change and influencing future policy, our objective is simple: to make a difference.

We have created a criminal justice information exchange service, which has become a centre for excellence, for the significant benefit of all who engage within the criminal justice sector.

We aim to improve quality of life of ex-offenders, facilitating change and assisting them in realizing their self-worth. We will work with them whilst in prison, help them find their sense of belonging in society thereby combating stigma & barriers built by societal prejudice.

We focus on reducing re-offending by working with offenders and ex-officers in providing accommodation, training & employment. Our aim is to build their self-worth & self-esteem especially post-release through the assessment & management of risk, also encouraging strong family connection and positive relationship ties post-release.

Prison Fellowship aims to support prisoners by coming alongside them and supporting them through practical programmes and prayer.

We seek to help, support and develop a Christian ministry to prisoners through Sycamore Tree, our victim awareness programme; Angel Tree, where we support prisoner's children at Christmas; Letter Writing and other practical support through chaplaincy.

We do this through our network of volunteer members, and currently have over 1,800 members across England and Wales.

Prison Reading Groups helps to set up and run reading groups in prisons. It runs groups in over 40 prisons, providing funding for books and helping find volunteers. It also provides books for Family Visit Days. It is part of the charity Give a Book.

The Prisoners' Advice Service provides free legal advice and representation to adult prisoners in England and Wales regarding their rights, and regardless of the individual prisoners' means. PAS aims to educate and empower prisoners regarding the law and their legal and human rights.

Family Impact for Prisoners’ Children at PSS, (Person Shaped Support) supports children with a parent in prison, or children whose parents have been in prison. Ours is a ‘whole family’ model. We provide: Advice on what to tell the children about the imprisonment, 1:1 support for children to discuss their feelings regarding contact and peer group support for children where they can meet others who share their experience. We work in partnership with schools, prisons, probation and social services. We take children on prison visits where there is no other suitable adult to do so. Parents, including both the parent/carer and the prisoner parent post-release, can join our Family Recovery Programme. Parents consider the impact imprisonment has had on the family and consider their parenting approach through our Nurturing Programme. Prisoner parents post-release are helped to reintegrate back to family and community life. We run an award winning support group for family members.

REACH INSIDE is a charity that has been set up to help friends and family members of prisoners to REACH INSIDE and communicate easily with their loved ones.
Our POST–2–PRISON project allows anyone with online access to send a photo and a message to any UK prisoner completely free of charge.
All you need to do is visit our website (its mobile friendly too) and send your message, we will then print it and post it directly into prison.

The RFEA's simple aim, since 1885, has been to help those leaving and those who have left the Armed Forces to find and to remain in employment throughout their working lives. We aim to make the client 'Job Ready' by signposting them to bespoke support required using our Nova Network of support and tracking this via our Nova Support team prior to finding them the right employment choice.
Project Nova is an early intervention scheme working in conjunction mainly with the Police and NHS dealing with Ex Military personnel who have been arrested or are on the periphery of doing so. Project Nova works with many partner organisations including HMPPS & CRCs and local authorities along with numerous military charities.

Safe Ground works to reduce the risk of offending and reoffending based on a continually developing understanding of the origins and impact of crime and a commitment to empowering people to change.

Samaritans provides confidential emotional support to prisoners, either by telephone or face-to-face. The organisation also selects, trains and supports prisoners, known as Listeners, to offer confidential, emotional support to their fellow-inmates.

Shelter offer free, confidential and independent advice and information to people with housing related problems. This includes services sub-contracted by five Community Rehabilitation Companies in Cumbria & Lancashire, Cheshire & Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Northumbria and Humberside, Lincolnshire & North Yorkshire. Shelter deliver accommodation and finance, benefits and debt interventions to support people subject to probation supervision to resettle in their communities.
