HACRO works to offer support for offenders, potential offenders, and their families, to manage positive change in their lives. We engage with influential partners in the community of Hertfordshire and neighbouring counties. We work to establish a range of educational and training initiatives with a focus on gaps in provision. Practical Support includes: at HMP The Mount) - support of Partners and Families via the Visitors Centre, Coffee bar in the Visits Hall which also provides barista training for prisoners, Play Area for visiting children, front end Volunteer Recruitment service; in the Community - a small grants scheme to help with resettlement; Caring Dads programme – to improve the parenting skills for fathers where there have been allegations of domestic abuse in the family; working in partnership on the ESF funded BBO Strive project to help disadvantaged people back to work and training.
